APJ is highlighting individuals who are putting their faith into action through service in their communities. This month's spotlight is Woodland Baptist Church, a church in San Antonio serving the immigrant community through legal services, ESL classes, and more.

APJ advocates for laws such as the Veterans and Consumers Fair Credit Act (S. 2833 and H.R. 5050) to cap the interest rate lenders are allowed to charge borrowers. We also support federal regulations that empower the government to investigate and end predatory lending practices.

Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is a type of electoral reform that allows broad participation from a wide range of voices, allowing third-party and independent candidates to have a genuine voice in the political process. Currently, 13 million voters in the US have access to RCV.

We advocate for youth diversion programs, lifting the ban on Pell Grants for incarcerated indviduals, closing youth prisons, and ending the cash bail system. APJ also supported the passing of the bipartisan First Step Act in 2018.

Fairness for All honors the image of God in LGBTQ+ people while also maintaining freedom for churches, mosques, synagogues, and faith-based organizations to engage in their mission in ways that are consistent with their deeply-held religious beliefs.

APJ advocates for the freedom to hire staff on a religious basis and the freedom to partner with the federal government to deliver vital social services consistent with religious convictions.
