@slayercomma interesting because i find the tumblr user base to be miles more reasonable and pleasant to deal with than twitter. but im pretty sure the average age of ppl i follow on tumblr is ~30, so that helps. fandom twitter now feels like what tumblr was like 10 years ago but even worse.

@gmoult my favorite part of maine! bethel area is a huge tourist hot spot in both summer and winter, further north is super rural. there’s grafton notch state park, rangeley lakes, moosehead lake (hike mt kineo). most unexpected thing in the area is probably the wilhelm reich museum.

@himbopresident the national broadcast thing is so funny because even as a brand new fan they seemed so much worse than the local broadcasts and the commentators annoyed me immediately, but i was like well im new here i don’t know anything, only to find out that was the majority opinion lol

@himbopresident having gotten back into hockey this year after nominally being a fan as a kid (bc boston), i’ve had these same questions. one interesting thing is that of the big 4 sports it earns the highest percent of its revenue from ticket sales (44%)

@himbopresident when i moved to nyc and into a friend group that doesn’t care about sports, hockey basically never came up in my life anymore, even in an ambient way, compared to the big 3, so would agree it has by far the least broad cultural valence by far.

@Brocklesnitch nope there’s nothing different about the last season, as you noted, it really is just a skyler white situation. i found her to be a pretty realistic teenage girl, and a pretty mature one at that. i was actually very surprised that she was considered annoying by so many.

@lastkiss158 @bree_mck i think people that say that don’t understand what you (or i) mean by wanting to be happy. thanks to wellbutrin i’m now at a baseline level of pleasantness 99.9% of the time whereas last year i was spending hours some days uncontrollably sobbing.

@marieeebabie i’m a woman with horrible handwriting (middle school boy level) but otherwise good fine motor skills (i think)—i’m really good at knitting and training new finger movements for that. when i try to write neatly it looks even worse somehow.
