I was diagnosed with #Autism back in 2002 aged 5 but I never let it get me down. I see my Autism as a superpower that brings its own gifts. I don’t see it as something to shy away from. I am really proud of the person I have become.
A few weeks ago someone said to me that being diagnosed with autism at the age of five must have been a heavy burden but I don’t see it like that. My autism is an integral part of who I am and people like myself can and do play a valuable role in society.
@wweisawesome123 And proud you should be.
@wweisawesome123 @mrjamesob I did not know back in the 50s but knew I was cross wired. I won a scholarship to the local private school. Then after leaving at 15 started in the IT business, and joined IBM when 23. Stayed with them for 37 years. Only found out about Autism in my 50s. Recognised it.
@wweisawesome123 @mrjamesob Good for you Ben. My grandson was diagnosed aged 4 but he’s becoming more confident and is such a happy, clever little boy ☺️
@wweisawesome123 I love this Ben, well said! What gifts are you most proud of? I so often struggle to see any positives in me.
@wweisawesome123 Good for you, Ben.. rightly proud of you 👏
@wweisawesome123 Well done avenue…stay strong
