Consciousness has some different contextual meanings, ok. What H. might mean is functional Access Consciousness. (I am a heavy user & accept weak equivalence claims as trivial.) But then why does he use the ambiguity of „we create a being“? This sounds like „sentient being“. Which is absolute nonsense in the domain of LLM.

It is a disgrace when someone abuses his (unquestionable) authority and merits from another field. (Probably he is blind about his limitations, because of the limitations.) 🙈 it’s called Nobel prize syndrome.
