I'm in my 50s now. Background in software engineering. NY Metropolitan area. Never deployed anything AI related to production. I'm smart though, and I've been building with spec driven development for the last 6 months with agents. Apparently this experience is not enough. I just wanted an opportunity to show my skills, but won't land an interview. I'd work for $1 usd for two months just to get an opportunity to get an opportunity to learn and grow, to get a real use case experience.

My rule with AI coding agents: spec first, code second. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Copilot all do better with a clear spec than with a clever prompt. Writing the spec is the product work. The code is becoming the easy part.
