@wonderofscience Thanks for sharing this! I love learning about new animals.
@wonderofscience Watching videos like this makes me way less spider scared. Just don't touch me
@wonderofscience I wonder how the bodily function of creating webs feels like to them… you think it’s like pooping?
@wonderofscience He's a builder 👷♂️ And a very precise one, very diligent
What a hard working little guy! 😢♥️ Spider webs are some of the strongest materials found in nature. If you measure weight to weight, an ordinary spider web has a stronger tensile strength than many types of steel — not kidding.
@wonderofscience Orb weavers build some of the most beautiful webs!
The webs of most orb-weaver spiders are designed to capture flying insects like: Flies Moths Butterflies Beetles Wasps Bees In some rare instances, larger orb-weavers might occasionally catch slightly bigger prey, such as small butterflies or dragonflies. However, the primary purpose of the web is to capture smaller, flying insects which the spider can then consume.
@wonderofscience Spider web experimentation. Interesting to see what caffeine does to the spiders
