‘not an Autism trait, everyone does that sometimes’ says the person who hasnt read the line in the DSM-5 that clearly says ‘symptoms cause clinically significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of current functioning’ but sure we all do it sometimes
@wizardsofautism That same old crap, from people who weren't assaulted in grade school specifically for standing out as different.
@wizardsofautism I don't have clinically significant impairments in functioning because I was labeled with autism at age 2 and I'm 37 now. It doesn't apply to everyone all the time. I haven't been in sped /SEN or had an IEP for 19 years.
@wizardsofautism "Everyone's a little autistic" It's the exact same vibe as "all lives matter"
@wizardsofautism I hate allistics so much
@wizardsofautism 👏🏻👏🏻 it's like, yeah sure ok everyone misses or misreads social cues sometimes, but did you as a child regularly stand in front of the bathroom mirror practicing The Correct Facial Expressions For Various Situations though.
@wizardsofautism Maybe you do it all the time but WE do it with a little added 💥flair💥
@wizardsofautism But that line is prone to BIAS & alternative dx because they need to spread the money around / not "everyone" can be Autistic / your pov and struggle is worth little when it comes to the doctor and/or severity is limited to stereotypical definitions.
@wizardsofautism literally like some people need to insert themselves into everything and refuse to understand how something could exist outside of them and its so annoying and harmful
@wizardsofautism me because i’ve read the dsm-5 for all the things i’m 100% sure i have and doctors just shut me down because i’m “too young” and “definitely not autistic” WE JUST TALKED FOR LIKE 3 MIN. HOW DO YOU KNOW IF IM AUTISTIC OR NOT? that shit makes me so mad
@wizardsofautism Same! Probably why I was in Special Ed classes. Have a nice day~!
