I may do a piece on this, but it looks like this gels almost exactly with league revenues.

@wil_da_beast630 Caitlin probably makes 2 mil in NIL by returning to Iowa.
@wil_da_beast630 Of course it does. These are collectively bargained contracts with a revenue % split determining how much the players get paid (in aggregate).
@wil_da_beast630 two separate issues: league revenues massively smaller in WNBA, but the league fixing rookie salaries also means Clark is massively underpaid compared to what she'd get as a free agent
@wil_da_beast630 Clark will be the only underpaid player in the history of the league.
@wil_da_beast630 About a year ago I had this discussion with some female friends and relatives. They were pointing out the disparity in pay, and I asked if any of them had *ever* bought a ticket to a WNBA game or bought merch. “Well, no but…”
@wil_da_beast630 NBA revenues $10 billion per year WNBA $200 million. 50x
@wil_da_beast630 I’d like to just be happy for her opportunity to make a living playing a game with little social pressure and no celebrity nonsense.
@wil_da_beast630 The NBA has 23x the revenue and the athletes play 3x the number of games. Every organization has a base cost to operate outside of payroll. The WNBA barely can sustain that while the NBA is so profitable they can give half their revenue to the players.
