FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE Participants of the WASCAL–GERICS School have reached an exciting milestone as they move from theory to hands-on climate training. After building a strong foundation in class, they are now applying real tools to real challenges across West Africa.
WASCAL and GERICS have launched the 2025 Winter School in Ouagadougou, training 40 professionals in cutting-edge climate tools, from drones and remote sensing to IoT data systems and climate services. The programme is shaping a new generation of experts driving climate resilience
At #cop30 WASCAL reaffirmed its leadership in climate science, capacity development, and regional cooperation. One key highlight was a special session on “Advances in Climate Research and Service Delivery in West Africa,” featuring invited experts and WASCAL’s Executive Director.
