🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after a Virginia mother of FIVE has been CONVICTED of a crime, sentenced to 6 months in jail, and placed on the CHILD ABUSE REGISTRY for 7 years...
...because she let her 5-year-old son walk half a mile to the pond in their GATED community to collect goose feathers.
Yes, you read that right...
Her name is Karyann Parkinson and she is probably the furthest thing from an "unfit mother" you will ever meet.
She has a degree in family science. She was a family life educator. She spent three years as a live-in behavioral specialist caring for 35 troubled girls. Her husband is a family therapist.
They moved to Virginia so she could go to William & Mary LAW SCHOOL.
This past June, eight months pregnant and studying for the bar, she took her boy Sam on their usual bike ride to the pond.
When they got home, he asked to walk back for more feathers.
Just a half-mile walk home on a sidewalk with ten feet of grass between him and the road.
Two crosswalks he'd used hundreds of times, inside a gated neighborhood with 24-hour security and a 25 mph speed limit.
She said yes, and she made lunch.
A stranger saw a kid walking and called security.
The guard marched Sam home and told this 5-year-old that his mommy did something wrong
His mother says it "scared the crap out of him."
Then the guard called the cops. Then the cop called backup.
Within minutes: THREE police cars. Three officers. A security vehicle. Two CPS workers. All at one mother's front door.
For a kid walking home on a sidewalk
CPS told her husband, "a 5-year-old child can never be unsupervised."
Never. Not for one minute. Not in a gated community. Not on a sidewalk.
That is the government's position on YOUR children.
They put her on the child abuse and neglect registry.
Seven years.
They charged her with "contributing to the delinquency of a minor."
A charge meant for parents who let their kids do drugs and skip school.
Last week, a judge convicted her and she got six months in jail, suspended and a permanent criminal record.
She can likely never volunteer at her kids' school again.
She may never be allowed to practice law.
What are we doing here????
Kids used to walk to school ALL THE TIME.
I used to ride bikes with my friends until till the streetlights came on... no one ever knew where I was and it didn't matter because this WAS AMERICA.
Now a five-year-old can't walk to a pond without three squad cars and a criminal conviction for his mother???
We've criminalized childhood...
The First World War did not erupt. Governments built it, financed it, and kept it running long past the point where any rational army would have quit the field.
Franz Ferdinand's assassination in Sarajevo on June 28, 1914, gave chancelleries and foreign ministries the pretext they needed. The war itself required something more durable than a pretext. It required central banks.
Every major belligerent suspended the gold standard within weeks of the opening shots. Britain suspended convertibility in August 1914. Germany, France, and Austria-Hungary followed. This mattered enormously. Under a true gold standard, you cannot fund a four-year industrial slaughter. Governments run out of money and populations refuse further sacrifice. The war ends. Instead, central banks printed currency to buy government bonds, transferring the cost of the war to ordinary wage earners through inflation, a tax nobody voted for and most never identified as a tax.
Ludwig von Mises watched this from Vienna and identified the mechanism precisely: inflation allows states to conscript private purchasing power without explicit confiscation. Every loaf of bread that cost more in 1917 than in 1913 represented a transfer from the buyer to the war machine.
The death toll reached approximately 20 million people. The fiscal cost exceeded $200 billion in 1914 dollars. Neither number was achievable under honest money. Politicians and generals sustained the catastrophe because central banking made it financially possible to keep going. Remove the printing press and the trenches empty themselves inside three months.
Sound money is a hard constraint on state violence. States hate hard constraints.
France will be blamed for colonizing Mali as the reason Bamako is dirty.
Africa post-independence is a mess.
The disorder and pigsty society is a very consistent pattern in Africa.
Infrastructure breakdown and poor service delivery are rampant.
Everything else is blamed except the people in power and the people living in such dirty conditions without any accountability or owning of responsibility.

Gondor is no longer able to call for aid due to new emissions regulations put forth by the Isengard Commission.
Emissions from Isengard and Mordor are exempt from the regulation to help the nations "catch up" in the name of "fair play".
Martyna Ogonowska has lost her appeal. This is atrocious. Martyna was just 18 when she was sexually assaulted by a man named Filip Jaskiewicz. A rape survivor, she was carrying a knife, and she stabbed Jaskiewicz once, killing him.
At her trial, the judge accepted that Martyna had been violently and sexually assaulted, but because she was carrying a knife, her actions were considered unlawful, and she was sentenced to 17 years in prison. Worse, she’s still behind bars, while Banaras Hussein, leader of the Rotherham rape gang, is already free on licence.
This is the UK in 2026: a country where a man who doused a little girl in gasoline and threatened to set her on fire spends less time in prison than a woman who killed in admitted self defense.
A timeline of one man's cunning inheritance tax scheme.
2008: Buy a thousand acres in Oxfordshire. Tell The Times that dodging inheritance tax is the critical thing. Scheme live.
2009 to 2018: Do absolutely nothing. A villager farms it on contract. Flawless.
2019: The villager retires. Rather than hire another one, decide to farm a thousand acres yourself, having never grown anything.
Also 2019: Invite a film crew.
2020: Rain for nine weeks. Profit on a thousand acres: £144.
2021: Broadcast the £144 to the largest streaming platform on earth, thereby informing the entire planet that farmland makes nothing.
2021: Open a farm shop. Acquire a queue down a lane and the undivided attention of West Oxfordshire District Council.
2022: Restaurant refused. Enforcement notice. Six weeks to take a barn apart.
2023: Lose the appeal. Lose it again.
May 2024: Accidentally get English planning law rewritten. Lawyers name it Clarkson's Clause.
August 2024: Open a pub selling only British food. Sell your own sausage at 74p against 18p imported, and eat the difference on every plate.
October 2024: The Chancellor caps agricultural property relief at a million. Scheme dead.
November 2024: Stand on a platform in Westminster in front of thirteen thousand farmers, drawing maximum national attention to the exact tax break you were supposedly hiding behind.
July 2025: Go down with TB. First calf ever born on the farm destroyed, pregnant with twins. Gate padlocked.
23 December 2025: Government retreats. The threshold goes from one million to two and a half. Five million for a couple.
March 2026: Farm declared clear.
July 2026: Drive four hundred miles to Scotland and buy more cows.
Eighteen years.
Planning law changed. Agricultural degree applications climbing. Cited in the Commons more times than most ministers manage. Half the estates that were going to be caught by the tax are no longer caught by it.
He was accused of buying a farm to dodge inheritance tax, and then spent eighteen months getting the relief raised for everybody else's.
Worst tax dodger in British history.
Best thing to happen to British farming in fifty years.
Harvard, Yale, and Princeton were all founded for one reason: to defend and spread the Christian faith.
In 1636, the Puritans of Massachusetts worried what would happen to their churches when the current ministers died. Their answer was Harvard, a college to train the next generation of pastors.
Yale followed in 1701, started by ministers who thought Harvard had already gone soft on doctrine.
Princeton came in 1746 out of the Great Awakening, with Jonathan Edwards among its early presidents.
The seals still carry it. Yale's bears Hebrew from the Book of Exodus. Princeton's shows an open Bible. Harvard's motto was once "Truth for Christ and the Church."
Rhodesia Railways used to be an absolute powerhouse.
427 locomotives, over 11,000 coaches and wagons, and a workforce of 29,000 people who actually knew what they were doing.
They moved more than 4 million passengers a year, on a network that ran all the way from Botswana down to the South African border.
Back in 1955 they even introduced Centralized Train Control, an electronic system managing switching and signals across 1,250 miles of track between Mutare and Ndola. Basically, they built human error out of the system decades before most of the world thought to.
Then in the late 70s came a $140 million electrification project, running high-voltage overhead lines from the Dabuka Marshalling Yard into Harare. This wasn't a quick fix either, it was infrastructure meant to last a century, and for a long time it was the backbone of mining, agriculture, and manufacturing in the country.
Fast forward to the National Railways of Zimbabwe, and it's honestly a hard story to tell. Engineers, mechanics, and inspectors who knew the system got replaced by political appointees.
Maintenance didn't just slip, it stopped altogether, like someone assumed the infrastructure would just look after itself.
And that's not how any of this works. Stop investing in locomotives, stop maintaining track, let the signaling equipment rot, and eventually the whole thing doesn't just slow down, it collapses. Those electric trains that used to climb steep gradients with ease got grounded because the parastatal couldn't even keep its own power grid running.
Once the neglect became institutional, that's when the real vultures showed up. Not small time theft, full-blown structural destruction.
The Harare–Dabuka electrified line got stripped down to nothing. Copper wiring, transformers, even the signaling systems, all torn out, melted down, and smuggled across the border.
Today, NRZ runs at a tiny fraction of what it used to. Coal, chrome, lithium, and farm produce, all pushed off the rails and onto trucks instead.
Now the highways are getting hammered by overloaded haulage trucks, logistics costs are climbing, and our export competitiveness is taking the hit.
The story of Rhodesia Railways to NRZ isn't really about missing trains. It's a case study in what happens when political patronage and zero accountability are allowed to run unchecked, a logistics powerhouse reduced to scrap metal.
A Berlin artist made a shirt that makes you invisible to AI surveillance cameras. Like, the camera sees everyone else but skips right over you.
The pattern looks like a loud Hawaiian shirt to humans. But to AI detection systems, it breaks the outline of a human body so completely that the model can't register a person is there.
He built it by testing patterns against YOLO until the AI stopped seeing a human. Now he's selling it for $75.
If his name sounds familiar same guy who tricked Google Maps into showing a fake traffic jam by pulling 99 phones through an empty street in 2020.
It won't fool every system. But the government systems watching you are closed, proprietary, and impossible to test independently. The shirt is the question. The system that can't be questioned is the problem.
A Sears aluminum “credit card” from the 1950s.
Before magnetic stripes, computer chips, and contactless payments, shoppers could carry metal charge plates containing their names, addresses, and account numbers in raised lettering.
At checkout, a Sears employee would place the plate into a manual imprinting machine and cover it with a multipart sales slip separated by carbon paper. A heavy roller was then pulled across the device, pressing the raised information onto each copy and creating records for the customer, the store, and Sears’ accounting department.
The familiar “ka-chunk” sound associated with old plastic credit-card imprinters came from essentially the same process.
This particular plate advertised Sears’ “Revolving Charge” program. Unlike traditional store accounts, which generally required customers to pay their full balance each month, revolving credit allowed shoppers to carry part of their balance forward while continuing to make purchases, typically with interest or finance charges.
It was not a universal credit card like those used today. The plate was linked to a Sears account and could generally be used only for purchases at Sears. Even so, it offered many features that modern credit-card users would recognize.
The exact date of this particular plate is uncertain, so “1950s” is safer than assigning it to a specific year. Its address also lacks a ZIP Code, suggesting it was issued before ZIP Codes were introduced nationwide in 1963.
Sears later entered the general-purpose credit-card market when it launched Discover in 1985, allowing customers to use the card at merchants far beyond Sears stores.
