I don’t tend to tweet much nowadays re: shares - something I’m hoping to correct in 2027. To generate some discussion, I have interims tomorrow from long term holding #SNWS and would be interested in views on the cost of diesel impacting them? This was flagged to me by another investor friend. Final mile is contracted out to self-employed drivers with their own vans but will still have an impact as contractors will ultimately demand higher rates. Warehouse distribution was trialed by mgt using EV’s but their own (small) fleet is primarily diesel. I’d expect fuel costs to be perhaps ~£25m a year or around 25% of distribution costs at a guess, but looking back at the 2022 fuel spike when diesel hit £1.90 it didn’t really impact the group, albeit it was only a temporarily spike… A longer term high fuel price could potentially hit them for ~£10m+ until they renegotiate contracts with the publishers, but some of these contracts run until 2029 before renewal. Given the Group’s solid cash generation none of this is going to break them but it’s a potential unwanted headwind. Look forward to any informed comments! #SNWS
