Brent back above $80 is the catalyst that flips the whole board risk-off. Oil up drags the dollar up, 2-year yields up, and pins the Fed closer to a hike. It even forces gold lower as funds sell to cover oil margin. Oil moves first, the rest of macro just follows it.

Two kinds of alts right now. The ones that bled hard vs Bitcoin are the cheap bucket you accumulate when BTC bottoms. The ones that pumped through the bear are the hype bucket, only worth holding if BTC has surely bottomed, else you short them against BTC. ETH sits in between.

If you're long BTC but its downside target is close, don't short your own core. Hedge with a pair trade: short the most overextended alt, long the laggards. Size it small, around 5% at 1x. A 50% move there adds a couple points to the book and softens the core drawdown.
