Shit this time I may really leave this ED for good. The contract has changed hands again, and the new dudes think it’s a great idea to cut our second NP, so only 12 hours of 2 person coverage with acuity at an all-time high. It feels too damn dangerous for everybody. Fuck
I’ve just been an ED doc for so long…I can do other things and I have other options but somehow this feels like to worst reason to quit
been sitting with it for days - decision made. I’ll work the Nov shifts that I committed to because we were under a time crunch to get a schedule together, then I will not work further unless coverage is restored. I may never work there again. I’m fine with it. Thx for listening
@upshaw_stacy It’s like they want you to quit. Administrators/owners have lost the plot on patient care.
@upshaw_stacy Moving your practice is hard. Spending days with your defence lawyer is hard. May you choose wisely.
@upshaw_stacy Can you say a little more about the NPs you work with?
@upshaw_stacy When 4 patients died in the wr in our hospitals ED in 1mo after mo's of screaming danger! >50% of the group made quiet moves to leave, and have come through on it. That feeling you have is real and patients will suffer. Then moral injury of knowing you aren't providing great care
