Thanks to all helping with milk for orphaned babies - Elvin is 1 year and 4 months old & looks healthy, with her Granny, on Tumaini milk support. The other family is a widow and orphans in a poor house:we hope to build them a decent home from which the children can go to school.

What a privilege to see our VTS students who were “nobodies” (never!) become “somebodies” & receive a visit from Tanzanian Govt officials on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan bringing 10 batches of sodas, 50kg rice, 4 gallons cooking-oil,12kg soap & a goat to celebrate Idd.

The Jasson family: a widow & 5 children need help so that these children can have hope and a future. Their house lets in water - it has been raining in Kagera since September!! They need more food and the two youngest need supplies to get to school. With your help we can do this.

This widow has a twelve year old handicapped daughter and another daughter in school. What a hard life. We can’t make everything better, but we can stand alongside - getting a mattress and bedclothes could make a real difference and a Parishworker to give support.

Essau & Ederick are total orphans, cared for by their 66 yr old Grandmother. She sends them to school but they need school supplies and obviously need a decent home. Grandmother Mary finds it very hard to feed them adequately. With your help we can start supplying their needs.

Touching observations about this widow from Rusumo: in spite of their hard life, she is getting her children to school daily and has beautified the front of their home with 2 bushes. They deserve help - regular food, a new house & school supplies. With your help, we will do this.

This case seemed “hopeless “ - where do we begin to help? But we give thanks for our local Parish-workers who identify these needy families & our Coordinators, in this case Subira, our Biharamulo Coordinator, who work so hard, in Jesus’ name, to find hope (“Tumaini”) for them.

This family from Biharamulo were desperately poor anyway when Dad died last year: none of the children, 15,11,8 yrs are at school. Our Coordinator Subira has got to work: the youngest will start school, the middle begins catch-up school, the eldest will start carpentry class.

Look at this smart young man - Hosea, one of our orphans picking up his school necessities for Year 1 in secondary school. See the potential! Now look at another family we have just welcomed in to our Tumaini family- what a difference. I will post about them next.

Encouraging EVERYONE in Guernsey to register for the ⁦@WorldAidWalk⁩ in 6th May - all Tumaini funds will buy mosquito nets which save lives from malaria - giving children 50% more chance of reaching adulthood. Here are families receiving nets this week in Biharamulo.

1 yr old orphan Delisia her 68 yr old granny who would find it hard to thrive/survive without our Milk Programme & dear 2 yr old Elida cared for by her 53 yr old granny, now completing our milk programme in good health. Thanks to everyone contributing to these children’s health.

On #WorldHealthDay thanks to everyone helping us ensure that AIDS sufferers get their AntiRetroVirals regularly, that our children sleep under mosquito nets, safe from mosquitos & the malaria they bring & drink clean water & avoid dying of typhoid. Thank you, please keep helping!

A wonderful Good Friday concert 🎶 by Festiva at Forest Methodist Church this afternoon. The choir was directed by Andrew Warren and the music was beautiful. A collection was taken including funds for Tumaini - thanks to the choir & to Rev. Jacky Cotterell. 💕🇬🇬💕🇹🇿

Elia Ethan, a former Tumaini student, a doctor, now specialising in ophthalmology. He can operate on cataracts, pterygia & can do glaucoma surgery. We are so proud of him - his sister is one of our social-workers. God is so good. Thanks to those who have & are helping Elia.
