NYC has a rich history of electing powerful, progressive Latine officials who advance workers’ rights, defend our right to bodily autonomy, and work for a better justice system. I strongly urge our State Senate to reject LaSalle’s nomination. We deserve so much better than this.

There are many qualified Latino/a nominees to serve this court. We can make history without contradicting our community’s values or putting our rights at risk. We deserve a nominee that reflects our values: pro-worker’s rights, pro-women & LGBT+ rights, and committed to justice
@AOC Can you please stop with the gender neutral ways of saying Latino/a. You could always just call yourself Hispanic. It's gender neutral. The Spanish language isn't transphobic because it uses masculine and feminine words. Microphone is always going to be "microfono".
@AlexRosa777 @anypigslft2 @AOC And guess next she'll also start calling herself a "mujxr"?
@AlexRosa777 @AOC I've made the same point about just using the term "Hispanic" when people want to be general.
@AlexRosa777 @AOC Hispanic is a term imposed on the people and excludes Brazilians and other Latinos whose language is not officially Spanish.
@AlexRosa777 @AOC Better, Latino means Latin in English and the people from Latin America are called Latin Americans. English already has gender neutral translations for Latino (Latin/Latin American).
@AlexRosa777 @AOC I’m guessing… not that many people feel the same about the gendering in el Español as you do😂
