As oxygen dissolved iron in the seas, it formed the massive banded iron formations we still mine today for steel. CO₂ didn’t just enable life — it powered the entire food web and reshaped Earth’s atmosphere and geology. Without it, our planet would likely remain toxic and largely lifeless. The denigration of Charles Mance Reserve the site of Merrylands Anzac Memorial and Anzac Day Dawn Services is a complete lack of respect and offensive to our fallen diggers and our army personnel currently serving our country. To allow homeless refugees or local residents to hang their dirty washing in the park resembling a third world ghetto abomination is offensive and an insult to many Australians and local residents. Two months ago with the exception of myself council voted to allocate Council resources to assist illegal homeless refugees in Pendle Hill with alleged drug and alcohol addictions. My calls that we should be prioritising Australian residents who are homeless fell on deaf ears. In the meantime Council spends over $300,000 a year on a monthly newsletter delivered to every house with countless pictures of the mayor resembling a Labor Party advertising campaign. Yet sacred sites like our local Anzac Memorial are polluted and degraded serving as a clothesline for dirty washing of homeless refugees and local residents. All this is happening across the road from Councils Administration Building. The Labor Party continues to show their disrespect and lack of regard towards our Anzacs and army personnel. Only two weeks ago Council Council voted to increase Council Rates the second Rate Rise in 12 months totalling 11.5% with myself being the only Councillor against the Rate Raise.
