Is this a washing machine? Nope! This is the DEC TU80 (Digital Equipment Corporation TU80). It is an industry-standard 9-track streaming magnetic tape drive subsystem. It was heavily used for data storage, disk backup, and archiving for DEC's systems, such as the PDP-11 and VAX systems. Fun fact: the TU80 was manually loaded, so an operator had to physically thread the half-inch magnetic tape into the drive before it could read or write data. This is the TAU2, a computer-music audio synthesizer. Built in Italy in the early 70s, it was a custom, polyphonic synthesizer developed for the Italian computer music pioneer Pietro Grossi. It functioned as an audio terminal peripheral that was connect to and controlled by an IBM mainframe computer running custom TAUMUS software. The mastermind behind this machine (Pietro Grossi) was originally a cellist for the Florence orchestra. He left the traditional classical music world, and then generated some of Italy's first real-time algorithmic computer music. I’m not even going to pretend this isn’t exactly my kind of thing. I love music, I love old technology, and I would absolutely adore having a setup like this to experiment with sound. #RetroTech #TechHistory #SynthNostalgia

I'm a Tolkien nut! I had JUST finished reading so many books when I was a teenager...then the movies were announced and then I discovered tracks from that album on MP3.com. I was instantly hooked and obsessed and had to go find CDs at the mall! If I had to choose between those, it would be Hansi for me! But...Sabaton aint too bad either!

Oooh yes, I knew they were around those years but I couldn’t remember exactly when the SE 3 came out off the top of my head. Both phones are probably ancient in some peoples eyes but… if it works, there’s no reason to change. I also absolutely love the home button and Im going to really struggle if I ever have to get a newer one for any reason
