I just got curious what is the famous regional food in Pittsburgh and Googled it, and incredibly, it's a "Pittsburgh Salad", which is a salad topped with french fries. America, you great unfinished symphony en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburg…
@tomgara I’ve been in Pittsburgh 12 years, and I’ve seen exactly 2 Pittsburgh salads. Natives will tell you the real Pittsburgh food is pierogies because they think nobody else has fucking pierogies. There is no good Pittsburgh specialty unless you count strawberry pretzel salad
@tomgara Googling Pennsylvania regional foods is a dangerous game
@tomgara I feel like the better known regional fries-related delicacies is a sandwich with fries added in. primantibros.com
@tomgara Now lookup Pittsburgh toilet . Western PA is wild
@tomgara The reason our sandwiches have fries and cole slaw is bc they had to be able to eat lunch with one hand, and hold on (for their lives) with the other! They were typically eating over boiling steel or a skyscraper. Salads with fries obviously came from that! 🙄🙄🙄
