A🧵—I am grateful for this clarification—really a repudiation—of the statement originally reported that @jbwester, @bartbarber, & @keahbone et al claimed that the new, independent organization would be funded by SendRelief. But I have questions. 1/6 namb.net/news/send-reli…
Why was it originally reported that "Send Relief officials agreed February 19 to release funds to help launch ARC" when Send Relief officials say no such agreement was ever made? Is this bad reporting? Is deception involved? Is it incompetence? 2/6 x.com/SBCMessengers/…

I don't know the answer to those questions, but someone does. Actually several people do. The SBC has been languishing in a sea of obfuscation, cover-up, & disregard for churches for years. It is time for our leaders to step up & tell "headquarters" what is going on. 3/6
@tomascol A good guess is that much of this was bandied about orally, and as the Feb. meeting approached. Probably much of it was last minute and not properly vetted. Thankfully, the paperwork to create this nonprofit has yet to be actually filed in SC, so there is time to step back.
@tomascol In answer to your questions I will give my opinion that no one asked for. Yes, in that it wasn't supposed to be revealed yet. Yes. They are leaving us no choice but to believe them based on their own actions. Yes. See previous answer. But what does a pleb in the pews know.
