Big Leaguers share a common trait that has nothing to do with ability. Its resilience. They had to believe in themselves and keep pushing forward. The majority of them had a harder path than it looks like watching them play on TV. They were willing to fight longer and harder.
The secret sauce. At times (most of the time) the "separator" for players is a coach they trust looking them in the eye and telling them "I believe in you" and "you can be great".
Unfortunately the best way to develop fortitude, resilience, grit and toughness is by falling on your face, getting knocked down, failing and making mistakes. We do our best to avoid them but reality is they are the best moments to grow. Stop running from it and embrace it.
Don't just be motivated to prove your haters wrong. Be motivated to prove your supporters right!

The number of walks, hit batters and wild pitches in P5 baseball is gross. How about this. Until we can throw close to 70% strikes, let's forget about crow hopping into a net, spin rates, velocity, etc. Command it, then add velocity. Not the other way around.

Traits of baseball mental toughness The ability to move on to the next pitch, next at bat, next play, next game, etc. Don't let what's already happened effect what's next. A bad at bat, an error, bad pitch, baserunning mistake, etc., shouldn't snowball. Be great at tough.
