John Wheeler was so impressed by the young Richard Feynman’s new way of thinking about quantum mechanics that he took it straight to Albert Einstein. Feynman’s idea, later known as the path integral or “sum over histories,” described particles not as following one path, but every possible path at once. Wheeler spent about twenty minutes explaining the beauty of the idea to Einstein, hoping it might change his mind about quantum theory. Then he asked if such elegance made it easier to accept. Einstein listened carefully, but remained unconvinced. He replied that he still could not believe God plays dice, though he added with humility that he might be wrong. The moment captured something rare in science. Wheeler stood between generations, deeply respecting Einstein while embracing bold new ideas from his students. It showed how great minds can disagree profoundly, yet still listen, question, and learn from one another.

As we all know, James Clerk Maxwell revolutionized physics by unifying electricity, magnetism, and light with his Maxwell’s equations, showing that light is an electromagnetic wave. His work makes modern life possible. Without it, we wouldn’t have electricity, radios, TVs, Wi-Fi, MRI machines, or the technological world we rely on today. He also advanced the kinetic theory of gases and studied color vision, showing that his genius touched both theory and everyday life. Maxwell’s ideas went far beyond his own time. Albert Einstein called his equations “the most profound and fruitful that physics has experienced since the time of Newton,” and credited them as a major inspiration for his special theory of relativity. Niels Bohr admired Maxwell’s ability to combine mathematical elegance with physical insight, while Richard Feynman praised his equations as among the most beautiful in physics. Hermann Minkowski used Maxwell’s framework as a foundation for his concept of spacetime, and Oliver Heaviside, who refined Maxwell’s original equations into their modern form, called them a “masterpiece of reasoning.” Even Schrödinger looked to Maxwell as a model of blending mathematical beauty with physical truth. Maxwell didn’t just describe the world he gave scientists and engineers the tools to reshape it, inspiring generations of physicists and enabling the technologies we rely on every day. She wasn’t kidding. > The illusion of early success. In your early 20s, the brain seeks quick proof of worth ~status, attention, rapid achievements. But psychologists warn that chasing recognition too soon can lock people into roles or paths they never consciously chose. They decide too early… and spend years trying to undo it. > The exploration phase. Research on career development suggests that people who explore more before 30 often build stronger long-term directions. Testing ideas. Making mistakes in public. Changing course. At 25 it looks like confusion ….but by 35 it often turns into clarity. People who feel “behind” in their mid-20s frequently gain something others miss: Perspective. Patience. And a clearer sense of what truly matters to them. That foundation often leads to better decisions later on. At the end of the lecture, the psychologist left the students with one final thought: “You’re not meant to have life fully figured out at 25.” “You’re meant to discover who you’re not.”

Maryam Mirzakhani was one of the most influential scientists of the 21st century. She made history by becoming the first woman to win the Fields Medal, often called the “Nobel Prize of Mathematics.” After completing her undergraduate studies in Tehran, she went on to earn her PhD in mathematics from Harvard University. She later became a professor at Stanford University, where she continued her groundbreaking research. In 2014, she was awarded the Fields Medal for her innovative work on the geometry and dynamics of Riemann surfaces. Her research has played an important role in modern fields like string theory, helping scientists better understand the fundamental structure of the universe. Maryam Mirzakhani’s birthday is celebrated as the International Day of Women in Mathematics, honoring her legacy and inspiring women around the world. Sadly, this brilliant mind passed away at the age of 40. To honor her contributions, her name has been given to a planet and even a satellite sent into space. Her life remains a powerful example of curiosity, dedication, and the beauty of mathematics.
