Tip when your kids are scared of a storm. Let them pack whatever they want into your safe room. Makes it fun for them to prepare. @NashSevereWx
@thetireddadlife @NashSevereWx Can Moms do this too? 🍷
@thetireddadlife @NashSevereWx Love it!! Mine are playing in the safe space now too 😂 having fun in there from what I can tell.
@thetireddadlife @NashSevereWx If possible, remove anything hanging on the walls, like those flowers inside the glass, and the mirror.
@thetireddadlife @NashSevereWx My kids have put their favorite stuffies alongside their shoes and helmets
@thetireddadlife @NashSevereWx 💯 agree! I would, however, watch the wall decorations in said safe room to, well, keep it safe.😆
@thetireddadlife @NashSevereWx Nice glass-panel artwork hanging on the wall there... 😬 Keep some painters tape handy to tape Xs over mirrors and glass panes in pictures as this *can* reduce shattering, and it's easy to remove. BONUS: Repaint the bathroom while you're at it annnnnd nah, that's overthinking it.
@thetireddadlife @NashSevereWx Agree completely. Our daughter set up our shelter a little while ago with pillows, books, snacks, and even a plant. It seems to provide a sense of control during circumstances that make her anxious.
