@allYourBaseNfT I think you have this a little bit confused. Volume, or lack of volume, is a problem. Marketing is one of many solutions. Problems = A, B, C Solutions = X, Y, Z different concepts but related
@allYourBaseNfT Completely agree on the conclusion, completely disagree on the premise. In fact, I’d argue both Scalability and Centralized Stablecoins is exactly what we need to increase volume on chain. On marketing, problem is the elitist/toxic community being a huge turn off for new users.
@allYourBaseNfT Scalability. Do you know why our apps are so simple compared to other chains? Because smart contracts capabilities are very limited compared to EVM/SVM. We have made TONS of improvements there over last two years but it has been slow and we’re *still* behind of industry standard.
@allYourBaseNfT @OptimFi decided to build Leviathan L2 because we literally could not develop the type of complex dapps we wanted to bring to Cardano and we got tired of waiting so just decided to build the infrastructure ourselves. For perspective, Cardano apps are comparable to 2020 EVM.
@allYourBaseNfT @OptimFi More complex applications will allow devs to abstract away more complicated interactions that greatly improve user experience. So not only have Ethereum/Solana apps improved 4 years ahead of us, but their dapps are also way easier to use to take advantage of defi composability.
@allYourBaseNfT @OptimFi Stablecoins. Decentralized stablecoins don’t scale with demand, Centralized ones do. And we need them to greatly improve liquidity across DEXs. They allow you to only have exposure to one volatile asset instead of two, making LPing a less risky proposition, deepening liquidity.
@allYourBaseNfT @OptimFi We also need centralized stablecoins for easy access to leverage through lending markets. Wanna long? Borrow USDC against ADA, buy more ADA/CNTs. Wanna short? Borrow ADA/CNTs and sell for USDC. Can’t do that when SC supply is so low it costs 40% interest for a depegged stable.
@allYourBaseNfT @OptimFi If we have access to a large supply of centralized stablecoins for cheap leverage for people to long during a bull market, it creates a recursive flywheel effect where prices keep going up cause everyone is now suddenly buying and creating a positive feedback loop = DeFi Summer.
