For all the times we have treated someone as expendable, rather than according to their goodness, forgive us Lord.
I get the sense that one thing the Pope is trying to teach us is not to put conditionals on relationships, but to embrace people as they are.
Relationships can suffer from many misunderstandings, so it is important to keep them in constant repair through prayer.
Sometimes, when we experience dryness in prayer, it is for the same reason that God took away food from the Israelites in the desert, only to then give them manna to eat. We must experience our spiritual poverty before we can be filled with the gifts of the Spirit.
Don't complicate your prayer. It doesn't have to be anything more than you and Jesus, enjoying each other's company.
We just need to give God the little that we have. He will do the rest.
Try to do at least a half hour of mental prayer each day. While praying, you can talk to God, his angels, saints and Our Lady. You can picture yourself in Gospel scenes and talk to Jesus. Or meditate on some virtue or grace you need. It can really be the best time of your day.
When prayer becomes a habit, God becomes a natural part of our lives.
Prayer gives us a sense of our own sinfulness, but an even greater sense of God's mercy.
There are many hidden people whose prayers make the world a place where God is still known and worshipped.
It's always easy to put off prayer until later, which is why it helps to have set times of prayer.
Let's trust that God will provide us with everything we need to accomplish what He is asking of us.

Prayer is what unites us to God, and through God to other members of the Body of Christ.
We learn to recognize the voice of the Good Shepherd by listening to God during prayer.
Prayer helps us to overcome the patterns of revenge that threaten to disrupt our friendships.
Prayer is the salt that gives a divine flavor to the many things we do throughout the day.
Prayer is not about getting good feelings from God, it's about developing a happy relationship with Him.
People are convinced of the truth of the Faith more by the peace that we share than by the arguments that we make.
