The NHFD 2019 annual report has now been published and is available to download. Lots of good care being delivered across the country but also areas for local teams to scrutinise across their patient pathways particularly during times of increased pressure nhfd.co.uk/20/hipfracture…

@docfarrow Our collaborators only reported contra-indications in 1.2% of 902 operated patients - benefits need to be looked at in “high risk” patients - but we need to focus attention on getting TXA into those patients that yours and others reviews and RCTs have proven benefit #TXA #NOF
Less than 50% of eligible patients received a peri-operative dose of TXA. We have provided collaborators with presentation outlining the evidence that TXA reduces blood loss, reduces transfusions without increasing adverse events in #hipfracture #nof #txa #tranexamicacid
