The inside of the Starbucks vs the 10+ cars waiting in the drive thru. The grip the car has on culture and how it’s almost always perceived to be the most convenient option.
@the_transit_guy As a dad of two under three, I view your analysis of the word ‘convenient’ drastically different. Convenience changes with one that can’t walk, one that can run, and both that can meltdown. Appreciate your thought provoking work—here tho,you may have missed parent w/ kids angle
@the_transit_guy The problem is that they give priority to drive thru orders.
@the_transit_guy This isn’t a perception issue. This is a human energy issue. It takes less energy to sit an extra 20 minutes than to park, get out, and walk inside. It’s just like UI on a website. The more clicks needed the less likely people are to do it.
@the_transit_guy I do not understand the Starbucks drive through. I’ve seen as many as 10 cars queued up at one nearby, meaning people are waiting potentially 20-30 min for coffee. From Starbucks.
