"Output your answer as JSON." It works... until it doesn't. Claude adds a helpful sentence before the JSON. Wraps it in markdown. Or quietly leaves out a field your system was depending on. For a one-off script, that's annoying. For a production extraction pipeline processing thousands of requests, that's a failure.
