Has anyone ever tried to collect actual legal research assignments from publicly available datasets? I'm realizing privilege may make it tricky to find any, but surely there are some available?
I'm hoping my hubris doesn't jinx me. It's like saying "there must be a case that says that" or "why wouldn't PACER be free"
@theFordon Could you request some here from practicing attorneys? I mean, we all know how to tweak facts well enough to change something. Or are you looking for the research memo in addition to research ideas?
@theFordon How would one search for that? I can imagine finding opinion letters in some types of litigation (tax? patent?)
@theFordon In developing legal software, I see a huge opportunity for crowdsourced information in the legal community - especially when supplemented by AI. But as a practitioner, I can tell you that attorneys are a blend of wanting to help and holding work product really close to the vest.
