What is the one goal, if completed, that could change everything? What is the most urgent thing right now that you feel you “must” or “should” do? Can you let the urgent “fail”—even for a day—to get to the next milestone for your potential life-changing tasks? What’s been on your to-do list the longest? Start it first thing in the morning and don’t allow interruptions or lunch until you finish. Will “bad” things happen? Small problems will crop up, yes. A few people will complain and quickly get over it. BUT, the bigger picture items you complete will let you see these for what they are—minutiae and repairable hiccups. Make this trade a habit. Let the small bad things happen and make the big good things happen.

The goal itself might seem small to some, but for me it has the potential to change everything. I am currently battling myself each morning to rise up at 4:00am. It 100% is a mental battle. I get anywhere between 6-8 hours of sleep each night, so I am not stealing meaningful sleep hours to wake up early. Over the course of the last 26 days I have failed to wake up at 4:00am twice and I am currently on my longest active streak of 12 days. The goal is to continue this for the rest of my life and use it as the catalyst for the journey ahead. Waking up at 4:00am seems it will always be a motherfucker, but starting off my day with a challenge and besting that motherfucker, just sets the rest of my day up for success. I can already feel a change happening within and an appetite building inside for more. This is the first building block in my journey and is the base to build out the rest of my life.
@tferriss The one goal or thing makes for a fascinating read in the book written by @garykeller
@tferriss Great food for thought on a Sunday night
@tferriss Prioritize that one goal with potential to redefine everything.
@tferriss Loosing 25 kgs will make me captain of my soul again.
It takes incredible focus and confidence to break out of the urgent. I've found this level of confidence only happens if you're really sure - at a core level - about your One Goal. For a deep dive on finding your One Thing - Gary Keller's book is one of the best... ! Great @tferriss interview here! youtube.com/watch?v=C6rkMc…

@tferriss The urgent shouts, but it's the whisper of what matters most that holds the power to transform our lives. Completing that goal enables us to see hiccups as mere hiccups. Trade small bad for big good - it isn't easy, but unpacking potential makes everything worthwhile.
