In my opinion, a professional vibe coder isn't defined solely by a software development background. It's someone who understands how to leverage different AI tools effectively, knows their strengths and limitations, and can combine them to consistently deliver working solutions. A development background is definitely an advantage because it helps with architecture, debugging, and validating outputs, but I think the real skill is knowing how to use the right tools in the right way to achieve results efficiently.

Funny how the gatekeepers always measure by what they learned in school, not what they built in the market. CLRS algorithms matter when you're optimizing for academic interviews at FAANG. They matter significantly less when you're shipping products that pay. I've deployed infrastructure at critical government data centers. I build SaaS. My clients care about outcomes, not whether I can whiteboard Dijkstra's algorithm on demand. The real 'monkey ass' move? Spending years memorizing textbooks while the builders are already 5 years ahead operationally. But please, keep using CLRS as your gatekeeper test. It's a nice filter that lets the pragmatists move faster. A 20 years old engineer will replace you sooner than you think. Cheers!!🤝
