For years the Ukraine asked no begged for the west to help their fledgling democracy and they refused until last minute and then gave them minimal support the Ukrainians stood their ground with no foreign troops and fought literally with their bare hands.

Ukraine does have a racist right wing like all countries in the world which pushed its government to refuse a centrist policy because they seriously believed when Russia attacked USA and NATO will come to its defense and fight for it. They didn’t get the message no world war.

Remember the Nazis were extremely powerful too but the partisans in different countries continued to fight them and did not give up. I am sure the Ukrainian partisans plus European and American veterans who join them will be able to fight the Russian military.
