Word of the day, should it be needed, is ‘apanthropy’ (18th century): a love of solitude, an aversion to other people, and the desire to be left alone.
@susie_dent That's me!!! You made my year with this post.
@susie_dent Synonyms: nirvana, heaven, pure bliss.
@susie_dent Apanthropics of the world, unite! …actually, erm, just stay away 😬
@susie_dent Woah, so there IS a word for it!
@susie_dent I can see how being on X for any length of time would drive anyone to apanthropy!
@susie_dent Apo = away and anthropo = human So, just literally away human, either as a command to others or as a description. S/he's not a 'there' human, but an 'away' human, as in far away from the company of others. I like that. I wish Icelandic had Greek+Latin roots like y'all.
@susie_dent How it is different from 'misanthropy'?
@susie_dent Totally me! I would rather hang out with dogs than most people! 🤣
