People using Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor every day: What’s one permission you still get a little nervous approving? Mine is anything touching config or auth files. Those “small changes” can have a pretty huge blast radius.
One thing I refuse to do with Warden is make developers send every AI request through my servers just to use the security layer. If I were the customer, I wouldn’t love that either lol. Direct provider calls + signed security decisions is the direction I’m leaning.
Microsoft built a cybersecurity model that apparently beats several frontier models while costing nearly 50% less. Specialized models might quietly win a lot of AI workloads. You don’t always need the smartest model alive. You need the right model for the job.
@Keshav_Mehra200 Depends what you want to build. I definitely think you should understand deeply how ai works but most people won’t be looking for another ChatGPT wrapper if they have to pay API token pricing

One decision I’m making with Warden: local redaction should still produce a security event. Not one event per email, key, or phone number. One event for the protected request, whether it contained 1 sensitive value or 100. I think that maps pricing to protection better than counting regex matches.
Redacting a secret before the model sees it isn’t enough if the original value still appears in: • request logs • error traces • analytics • approval screens • audit events Privacy controls need to cover the entire data path, not just the model request.
A user asks an agent: “Email [email protected]” The model receives: “Email [email1]” It calls sendEmail("[email1]"), and the local SDK resolves the real address only when the approved tool runs. The agent can use private data without the model provider seeing it.

Nvidia just formed an alliance to build open AI security tools. Good direction. But shared benchmarks and models are only part of the answer. Agent security ultimately has to become enforceable runtime controls: what an agent can access, where it can connect, and which actions can execute.
