Bharat is in danger. Not because people protested. Because street power now wants veto power. A crowd gathers. Pressure rises. The government bends. Then comes the demand: Withdraw every FIR. Stop every investigation. Protect everyone. Even those with criminal records. And when the Supreme Court permits investigation? “We do not accept it.” Not appeal. Not review. Rejection. That is where protest changes into dangerous form. Peaceful protest is democratic. Violent pressure is not sovereignty. A government cannot erase criminal law at a negotiation table. An FIR has a process. Courts matter. Evidence matters. Victims matter. Once violence earns immunity, every future group learns: Votes are slow. Violence on Streets are faster. Tomorrow, one mob will demand a minister resign. Another will demand he remain. One will demand reservation. Another its removal. Then who decides? The larger crowd? The louder slogan? The greater violence? If streets decide everything, why elect Parliament? Why count votes? Why have courts? Why have a Constitution? “We the People” does not mean “we who gathered today.” It means every citizen. Even the silent one at home. If this continues then: Law becomes negotiable. Pressure becomes power. Mobilisation becomes veto. That is how democracy dies. Today, the street demands immunity. Tomorrow, policy. Then judgments. Then power. Will the street speak and the Constitution decide? Or will the street decide, and the Constitution merely is a spectator?

You have seen this photograph. A man on his hands and knees in flood water, face almost under, while women step on his back to climb into a rescue boat. It went around the world. Almost nobody knows the man's name, or that he was in debt for the diesel that got him there. His name is Jaisal K P. He is a fisherman from Chappapadi beach in Tanur, in Malappuram district of Kerala. In August 2018, the state was drowning in the worst floods it had seen since 1924. More than three hundred and fifty people died. The official rescue could not reach everywhere fast enough. So the fishermen of Kerala loaded their boats onto lorries, drove inland to places they had never been, and went into the water themselves. Between them they pulled out around a hundred thousand people. Jaisal, then thirty two, was one of them, volunteering with a trauma care group. The problem that day was simple and physical. The rescue dinghies sat high and moved at the slightest touch. A woman had already fallen trying to climb in. The others were now frightened to try. So he went down on all fours in the water and told them to step on him. Someone filming can be heard telling the women to take off their slippers first, saying he is a human being, not a stone. Jaisal told them to leave it. He said it was not right to ask people running for their lives to stop and remove their footwear. His team rescued two hundred and fifty people and recovered ten bodies. Many of the volunteers had their own families sitting in relief camps at the time. And when a reporter reached him afterwards, the thing he was actually worried about was the debt his team had run up on diesel. Kerala's fishermen had spent years being looked down on by the state they lived in. When the water came, they were the first ones in it. The photograph made the whole world stop for a second. He got up out of the water and went back to work.

Everyone remembers the attack on the Mumbai railway station on 26/11, the gunmen walking the platforms, more than fifty people killed. Almost nobody remembers the announcer whose voice sent hundreds of strangers running the other way while the bullets were still flying. His name is Vishnu Dattaram Zende. On the night of 26 November 2008, he was on duty in the announcer's cabin at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a raised glass room looking out over the platforms. It was near the end of his shift when he heard a loud blast and gunfire, and saw people running. Two terrorists had walked into the busiest station in the country and begun shooting everyone in sight. At that station alone, they would kill more than fifty people. From his cabin he could see the whole layout, and he understood something fast. Local trains were still pulling in, each one about to pour hundreds of passengers straight onto the platforms where the gunmen were standing. He had a microphone that reached every platform. He decided to use it, even though it meant staying exactly where he was, in full view, instead of hiding. He began making announcements, over and over, in Hindi and Marathi, telling people not to come to the main concourse, telling them to leave by the rear exits, warning them away from the guns. Hundreds of people changed direction because of that voice and walked out of the station instead of into the bullets. The terrorists worked out where the announcements were coming from. They came and stood almost directly below his cabin. One of them fired up toward him. He kept low, waited, and when he could, went back to the microphone. He was an ordinary railway announcer on an ordinary shift. He had no weapon and no protection, just a mic and a clear view of what was coming. He stayed at his post and used the one tool he had to push strangers out of the path of the killers. The men with the rifles are the names everyone remembers from that station. The voice that quietly saved hundreds of the people they came to kill belonged to Vishnu Zende.

An 8-year-old turned an $8 microcontroller into a fully offline, voice-controlled AI storyteller. No Wi-Fi. No cloud. No API. Using an ESP32-S3, INMP 441 mic, i2s speaker and Max 98357A amplifier, Laksh built a bot that generates stories, creates animations, reads them aloud and responds to voice commands: play, pause, resume and next story. He built it by forking the brilliant open-source TinyStories LLM for ESP32 created by @slvDev. It had text. Laksh added voice, interaction, controls and animation. The Indian pioneer behind that exact home-battery movement was an electronics engineer named Rakesh Malhotra (Jadavpur university grad). Today, operating through his venture arms, he is an active angel investor funding early-stage Indian startups in electric mobility, battery tech & clean energy. The young engineer who made sure in early 1990s kids did not miss Sunday morning Chandrakanta spent the rest of his life building India's decentralized energy infrastructure.
