Have multiple ways to get warnings. WEA Alerts (make sure they're enabled on your phone), NOAA Weather Radio, apps like @stormwatchplus and others. Know where you are on the map. Watches are issued by county. Warnings are issued by polygons that are usually smaller than counties.…
@stormwatchplus Can't scroll through X when driving of course lol. So I need real time notifications for my current location to be safe and avoid any problems.

@NWSNashville Now is a great time to make sure you've got multiple ways to get weather alerts, charge up devices and have an emergency plan in place. My go-to follows are @NWSNashville and @NashSevereWx for updates. I also use @stormwatchplus for critical alerts that can override silent mode.

Sirens are only meant to be heard outdoors in certain areas - everyone should have a wake me up app @stormwatchplus and a weather radio and your native phone alerts - sirens should not be your primary or only warning source / 344 PM
@NashSevereWx do we know if the tornado warning sirens are actually all working. I’ve never heard one - neither have my neighbors in Gulch when they do the test on Sundays. I tried calling the county months ago but nobody got back to me. 🤷♂️🤦♂️

@tulipish @stormwatchplus I had to go into the phone settings for notifications and turn them off from there - so far, so good (it's been about 15 minutes). Hoping it's fixed soon, though, since my NOAA weather radio also chose today to stop working!
