I bet you didn't know this, but Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Max Levchin, and David Sacks produced "Thank You For Smoking," a movie about regulatory capture. Elon's been at war with the establishment for a long time.
@stillgray The story of how this got made is interesting. @DavidSacks ftw
@stillgray @DavidSacks If anything, the reality of lobbying is actually worse than the parody in the movie! The staggering scale of government waste is beyond comprehension.
@DavidSacks @elonmusk @JasonReitman Yes please. Do Big Pharma.
@stillgray @DavidSacks @elonmusk @JasonReitman Big pharma or food. For example, why does Macdonald's fries have 19 ingredients, in the U.S. Appearances suggest the FDA wants us to die young, with both the F and the D harming our collective health.
@stillgray @DavidSacks @elonmusk @JasonReitman +1 sequel would be awesome. This was a great movie
@stillgray @DavidSacks @elonmusk @JasonReitman The Big Pharma one should highlight the revolving door from our government health and regulatory agencies into Pharma. The “stakeholder” partnerships between these companies and govt agencies seems to have superseded the individual/patient as the real stakeholder.
@stillgray @DavidSacks @elonmusk @JasonReitman Thank you for not coughing.
