I'd like to add a new wrinkle to this discussion. If poker wants to add new fans and grow its base, Why not have a "Rookie of the Year" award? You could have one for male and one for female. You poker gods could decide what the criteria would be, but it would have to be reasonable so that a lot of new players or REC players could have a chance. Cash prizes and a trophy, and maybe a WSOP entry would make it very attractive to a lot of people.... Would be good for the game.. you agree?

I don't think a person's feelings really should enter into this at all. After all, the tournament is not called "For people who feel they are female" to compete in. It is for females to compete in. In this, you are correct, but Aubrey is legally a female. Since we have established that women can play poker as well as men, what is the point of this then? It is to encourage females to get into competitive poker as they might feel more comfortable initially playing against their own gender to start with..... Okay, then we should leave it up to the females to decide, and I have not heard a single one of them do anything but be supportive and accepting of Aubrey so far. If it doesn't bother them, it doesn't bother me. I've played poker in the past against just about every type of person, you can think of.... straight people, gay people, bull-dykes, and men in dresses. All had good table manners, and all I ever cared about was the color of their money, even if their personal affectations "icked" me out.
