I'm tired of the notion that somehow teachers should have to sacrifice our own wage increases for our students to have proper supports. The two aren't mutually exclusive. If you value teachers, then you should be pushing for them to be paid accordingly.
@steve_boots The sad thing is that teachers have made sacrifices for years around salary, working conditions, staffing, etc. But it's never enough. Expected to take shite deals year over year.
@steve_boots Yup. Same as it's not on healthcare workers to fund Healthcare with their own wages.
@steve_boots And to sacrifice our own personal wages for resources
@steve_boots Let’s hold our breath till our face turns blue fall on the floor and cry as loud as we can.
@steve_boots Since you say everything outside of 9-3 is not contracted work. What is 196 days a year from 9-3 worth? Might want to start considering extra curr as part of your job. Government should have it written in. Without it, I’m not sure what leg you have to stand on.
@steve_boots The fact that teachers have to fight for classroom supports is sad. Parents should be standing up to this government. As a parent I am grateful that teachers are doing this. I hope you guys get what you want. And I support whatever decision the teachers vote for.
