🇬🇧 A16z + UK: CSX 2024 accelator in London starting tomorrow. When we announced a16z’s first international office in the UK last June, we expressed our conviction in Britain being a place to build amazing companies. At the time, we had no ground presence here…yet. In 8 months, that has quickly changed and we have come a long way. In September, I moved here with my family and @jay_drainjr and @liz_harkavy . In November, we officially opened up our offices in London. But *today* is the day I’ve been looking forward to for all this time. We are thrilled to announce our CSX startup accelerator cohort here in London kicking off tomorrow. We invested in 25 amazing companies in a *very* competitive process from thousands of applications. Over a quarter are UK-based companies while others are flying in and staying here (many in the UK for the first time!) One of the things I truly enjoyed was getting on calls with many of them showing them what I’ve seen in the UK that makes me bullish on the ecosystem here - and they all agreed. All of these founders will now spend the next 10 weeks in our offices here in London - learning from each other, getting a bunch of resources from our team and we hope to set them up for long term growth and success. To all the teams, I’m thrilled to welcome you. You are in for a treat - especially those of you who are new to the UK. Hopefully you’ll see why this is an amazing country to build a company in. For folks around SoHo, don't be shocked if you run into a bunch of smart web3 builders working away on potentially the next iconic company. As an aside, I want to thank everyone who has helped us to get here from policymakers to the founder ecosystem , academic and venture capital ecosystem here. We are aligned on being optimistic about Britain as a place to just *build* amazing things. This is just the beginning. British optimism 🇬🇧💪

@sriramk Congrats! Excited to see what comes from this. Great to see the investment in the UK and Europe.
@sriramk I had no idea you had based yourself here too! If you see any projects which can fit within the role of social impact, please let me know! This way you have a product that can tie in with a large International NGO that already serves tens of millions of people across 50+ nations.
