Also, Zadorov will take a ton of penalties for the Canucks and get out of position a lot. He's fun to watch and a pretty skilled guy with a lot of snarl in his game but that upside is evened out with a lot of penalties to kill and a lot of reliance on a good goalie.
Totally agree. I don't think Zadorov gets more minutes or p on days significantly better with the Canucks. It's a good move. Return is as expected and the cap space will help.

#Flames players whose effort I don't generally question. Tanev and Coleman for sure. Coronato is there. Ogre Backlund too. And I generally like the effort from most of the defense and goalies. But, the forwards... Its just a lot of blah.

I don't really blame Treliving either. I mean, maybe he could've foreseen drafting American players could come back to bite the #Flames But, the deals made later didn't look bad on paper. Ive always thought Kadri had character issues but they were hard to see after his Avs year.
This #Flames team is a mess. Dump Sutter. Sure. That was fun. But, the problems are still here and their tied to big contracts for a long time. How does a rookie GM even try to fix this? Looks to me like a lot of long summers.

@sportfanyyc Rumours I heard was Treliving wanted to fire Sutter but was nixed. But Flames make playoffs with a bit better goaltending and more scoring touch. They’re capable of bouncing back with no changes, IMO. Can’t afford more wasted years tho

IMO, four teams in crosshairs for Flames (59 gm, 66 pts) to make playoffs. Only need to catch one. LA (60 gm, 74 pts) - Two H2H, Calgary owns tie-break Wpg (59 gm, 71 pts) - Starting to wobble Sea (58 gm, 70 pts) - Ditto Min (59 gm, 70 pts) - Two H2H Not probable, but possible.
I mean good for Mikael Backlund who is doing his part and more, but the Flames most emotionally invested, most productive, and best overall centre most nights should not be your third-line centre.
I’m not ready to sell on Markstrom yet. He wouldn’t be the first goalie to have a poor season and then come back and play back to his potential. Fleury was run out of Pittsburg and then found his groove again in Vegas #Flames
I trust the CBC more than anything out of Pierre’s mouth.
Karlsson is not the answer folks. The oilers need a stay at home d-man, not another offensive d-man. They also need a goalie who won’t let in 4+ goals every game and a guy that can win o-zone face offs… We’re not being logical if we think this team is a cup contender at this pt
