PALM SUNDAY TORNADO SERVICE: On the 30th anniversary of the tragic tornado that demolished the Goshen United Methodist Church building during worship on Palm Sunday 1994, we gathered this morning to remember and pay tribute. A total of 20 people died in the church that Palm Sunday morning at the church just north of Piedmont while an Easter drama was underway. Today’s Service of Remembrance was a very special one. Kelly and Dale Clem were the featured guests; Kelly delivered a remarkable sermon from the book of Job. Kelly and Dale lost their four-year-old daughter, Hannah, in the tornado. I was honored to have the chance to say a few words as well. It was great to see many old friends at Goshen today.

@spann I lived in Alabama at the time and remember that day very well. Hard to believe it's been 30 years. God bless them
@spann As mother of a Hannah who was 2 at the time, as well as a United Methodist, I think of them often🙏
@spann Dale was my youth pastor back in the day. Always remember them as I drive to Jacksonville. Everytime and that congregation.
@spann This was the first event I remember watching my grandmother cry out while praying. She struggled with this even though we knew no one affected. It really left an impression on me at 11 & influenced my walk more than anything else in my childhood.
