“I voted for Biden last time because I was sick of Trump. But I’ve been disappointed in him with how he’s handling the economy and the border. But if Trump’s got all this baggage and all these legal issues, how is he going to be able to do the job when he’s got all that going on?” -Cindy Siler, 66, Smith Mountain Lake, Va. Voted for Biden in 2020 and would vote for Biden again in 2024. washingtonpost.com/politics/inter…
@RpsAgainstTrump I sometimes wonder what % of American reads Int’l news or has travelled outside the US. The WORLD economy was impacted by Covid. Countries like Thailand are still struggling to recover. The US. has the best or one of the best economic recovery. But Americans are still not happy.
Maybe because that is simply not true. The average increase in inflation after the pandemic for the global economic leading countries was about 3%. The U.S. is the world’s leading economy and should have seen equal or even less with our large GDP. Instead the US saw one of the biggest inflation-rate increases in the world, behind only Brazil and Turkey. Inflation had increased fourfold under Biden — reaching 7% — before Russia invaded Ukraine. Inflation was 1.4% when Biden took office and had remained below 3% for the 9 years prior to that. For the first 3 months it stayed below 3% until his poor policies began taking effect, it took just 15 months for inflation to reach 9.1%, the highest in 40 years. The war on the oil, gas, and coal industries and the poor decision to call for a “surge” at our border led those poor policies. Why didn’t they wait until after our companies were allowed to open back up and workers returned to their jobs before implementing their green agenda? Why didn’t they wait until after the pandemic to allow millions of untested, unvaccinated and unvetted to enter our country? All while Americans were losing their jobs if they chose to remain unvaccinated, while Americans were experiencing draconian lockdowns, and while our children were not even allowed into their schools. By the way, the U.S. does not currently have the lowest inflation in the world. Of the G7 countries, there are 4 with lower inflation rates. Of the 20 countries with leading economies, there are 16 with lower inflation rates. The performance of GDP growth is similar. tradingeconomics.com/country-list/i…
I just got back from a 50 day vacation in Europe and the Middle East. The ONLY place we went that it was worse than the US was Egypt. They are REALLY hurting there. But otherwise, places like Italy are booming, prices seemed relatively normal. Unlike here, where it keeps getting WORSE monthly.
Why would Americans be happy with inflation? Because we're recovering a bit faster than most around the world is cause for celebration? WE continue to cause THEIR inflation! Almost every foreign economy is tied in some ways to pursue. The best thing we can do for the world is get our shit together, but Biden is too busy giving billions to Ukraine rather than taking care of our economy. Biden is too busy allowing millions of illegal invaders into the country and paying them $5000 rather than taking care of our economy. Biden loves to print money, which is highly detrimental to fighting inflation.
@snthnanan @RpsAgainstTrump Americans don't know anything that goes on outside their neighborhood.
@snthnanan @RpsAgainstTrump Doesn’t matter who is at fault. If it happens on your watch they will blame that president. That how life in America has been my entire life. Right or wrong that’s how it is. My dad taught me that life isn’t always fair. Just like elections they’re not always fair.
@snthnanan @RpsAgainstTrump Because they have the worst president ever to preside of the United States!
@snthnanan @RpsAgainstTrump I agree. They are just listening to propaganda here in the US.
@snthnanan @RpsAgainstTrump For some reason other Countries recognise how well the USA economy is going more than Americans do. There seems to be a lack of information in America...or should I say poor journalism and poor information dessimation.
@snthnanan @RpsAgainstTrump Good reason we are not happy. We are struggling under extreme inflation just to survive.
@snthnanan @RpsAgainstTrump American journalist & author, Ambrose Bierce, observed that God makes wars to teach Americans geography ... ~45% of Americans hold passports (Australia ~57%)...
