Just started my first playthrough of Quest for Glory 4, which my brother says is the best one. I've played only 1 and 2, somehow never finished 3 and stopped following the series. Time to fix that mistake!
Made it to town. Lots to buy at the general store. I started with food rations, but not sure if that is wise or not. So far I'm enamored by the setting, but I am not loving the combat system...
Not loving the list of actions you can take with some items. It's convenient, but I do miss having the ability to use my imagination to input my own ideas. "Climb bookcase," for instance, isn't an option despite there being a "secret passage" over the bookcase.
@slattstudio Yeah, that development kind of took away from the experience of discovery and put it on rails. Still a great game and series, though. ✌🏻🏔👾
@slattstudio I will say, I think a list of conversation responses is often superior than a parser for responding to conversations. "Yes" and "No" can be fun to type in, but anything more complex I think doesn't really work. NPC asks your opinion on a political topic? The parser's insufficient
@slattstudio I agree with and asterix. You know and I know that there's a passage behind the wall BUT unless you're playing a thief AND have seen the marks, your character doesn't. Even if there was an option, the response would be either "you have no reason to do that" or "you find nothing".
