We used to care about beautiful architecture. Luckily, designer Thomas Heatherwick still does. He is on a quest to make the world less boring with great insights into how to innovate, create, and humanize. Listen to our full conversation: hubs.la/Q02850Hx0
@simonsinek We rarely hear this coherently explained but we are 100% agree! As Winston Churchill said: “first we shape our buildings; thereafter, they shape us”. Our architecture is the human habitat. Shouldn’t we optimize it for human flourishing? Beauty is an essential ingredient.
@simonsinek Inspiring! Thomas' passion for innovative architecture is a breath of fresh air really 👌
@simonsinek Thomas Heatherwick's passion for innovative design is truly inspiring. He's bringing creativity to a new level! 🔥
@simonsinek Very true… but it’s also not very obvious to solve. We are nostalgic of more meaningful architecture at the same time when we try to 3D print homes and develop more sustainable / scandì style or tiny homes. How does he reconcile all of this out?
@simonsinek So accurate. Pragmatism is taking over and replacing beautiful architecture with profitable building.
@simonsinek @sim_sinek Loved listening to Thomas’ recent programme in the UK on BBC Radio 4 called Building Soul. This can be found on BBC Sounds. When you are surrounded by beautiful architecture and wonderful buildings it makes such a difference.
@simonsinek Developers build like fast fashion. The people that buy it - will continue to buy it UNTIL they change. It's not the architecture - it's the demand. How you wrestle with compulsive "I want it now" emotional buying has more to do with culture and not architecture.
@simonsinek I honestly think he's been reading my blog from about 3 years' ago! 😆
