This week marked the 3-year anniversary of the death at the hands of Honolulu Police of South African Lindani Myeni in Hawaii, USA. Officers involved faced no criminal charges. Lindani is survived by his wife Lindsay and their two children. Lindsay has since filed a wrongful death suit against the Honolulu Police alleging they shot her husband because he was black. #sabcnews
@sherwiebp This was a painful story, the Asian Air BNB occupants who lied when calling the cops on Myeni should also be held liable
@sherwiebp Why would they face anything when Myeni resisted arrest and became violent and started fighting them?
@sherwiebp US law has a concept of qualified immunity. That is, certain folks, who act in the scope of their jobs, like cops, are always immune from any legal liability.
@sherwiebp Why did he marry a white woman! These people show us daily that we are no humans to them. Now we must mourn somebody who sold ua out. Let the kleva blacks mourn one of theirs!
@sherwiebp Apparently he suffered from CTE but it does not explain why they would shoot an unarmed man. There are so many other non deadly ways to de-escalate a situation.
@sherwiebp You know, I have completely forgotten about this case. Last I heard the wife was in SOUTH AFRICA 🤔😠
@sherwiebp Thanks for bringing it back into the spotlight 👍💯
