He was smooth! I played some great catchers but two of my favorites who could really catch were @ToddPratt07 & @RickWrona #shegone

@shegone03 @ToddPratt07 @RickWrona Loved both those guys..Bob Boone and Steve Yeager when I was a kid..also Both Pudges..
@shegone03 @ToddPratt07 @RickWrona Todd was excellent at framing and making balls look like strikes. Also for me with him was he kepted his glove where we wanted the pitched. Didn’t move the glove around or moved glove late to location. Very smooth!
@shegone03 @ToddPratt07 @RickWrona He never showed up umpires.
@shegone03 @ToddPratt07 @RickWrona I was good friends with “dirt” for many years from from when he was with the Brewers up until the end of his career. When Molitor was managing the Twins I’d asked about him and he said he hasn’t talked to him in awhile. I miss that dude!
@shegone03 @ToddPratt07 @RickWrona I remember that Maddux worked so fast that no catcher could keep up with signs and it frustrated him. Charlie told him to forget the signs. Charlie told him something like "Just throw the ball and I'll catch it." What a testament to his catching skills and Maddux's control.
@shegone03 @ToddPratt07 @RickWrona That is super average receiving by today’s standards, but he does put some back into it. If you don’t understand modern catching this looks stellar.
@shegone03 @ToddPratt07 @RickWrona Catching that staff helped 😂. Maddox could dot the ‘i’
@shegone03 @ToddPratt07 @RickWrona Hopefully this is seen by every travel ball coach who has their catcher slam their glove on the ground as part of their set up
@shegone03 @ToddPratt07 @RickWrona Good God paint job!! Also so quiet 🤫 behind the dish it’s a thing of beauty @Humphrey_Bobby
