Our first free flight had to happen without my sponsor, which was a lil nerve wracking, but it went swimmingly. We even had a surprise visit by a dog and some hikers and Nugget was not especially bothered. #falconry

@MR3Dev My very first freelance animation job was a previs style animation of someone getting punched in the dick for a BBC pilot. I took it and it became a meme among my friends. $20 is $20. (Or in this case several hundred)

@InWindsArt This case was in Oregon, so obviously laws can differ. I can ask for more details tomorrow, if it helps at all. Pretty sure neighbor claimed she was attacking chickens & him, but it didn't hold up because she was shot & found on opposite side of property & couldn't move.

@InWindsArt Horrific. I will never understand. Bf's friend had this happen. Dog was shot & survived but was paralyzed. He sued & won. Has a lien on the neighbors house now, they couldn't pay what they owed. It was totally senseless. Friendly dog. And for what. Endangering kids too. Insane.

@parkersity_9 Okay, but a while back I kept seeing smoke in front of my face. Warm room, never smoked, legit thought it was a haunting. Could never replicate it. 3 months later realized I had been taking a powder supplement... turns out it was coming back up my nose?

So far she's been very gentle with me, the exact opposite of Jeffery. I was afraid she'd be using the murder mitts against me at every opportunity but she hasn't used them once. It turns out some birds are just problem children...

Came back the next day & he was continuing to hunt this way. We tried to trap him but decided that it was too risky. But man, this bird was playing with fire. I hope he learns to hunt in the fields away from the road and survives his first year...

It was pretty unphased by us. As we watched we realized it was uninjured. It was climbing to the top of the tiny median hill, & leaping down into the dips on either side to catch mice. Eventually after 3 or 4 hunting leaps, he flew down the median strip & crossed the road.

This year while trapping we found a 5 mile stretch of road that was overrun with red tails, more than half of them passage birds. We trapped a bird on the side of the road here, and saw a bird in the median that we assumed had been hit by a car. 🧵

Tis the season.... This bird was at bf's work, and didn't commit but may have had a crop. We have your number bird, we know where you live. Just gotta get that trap under it when it's hungry!

Jeffery was in his bath pan doing a weird dance, so I went to go see what was up. He saw me coming, reached down and grabbed something and hopped to his perch. It was a June beatle. This bird had a rat this morning, he is not hungry xD

Another early video of Jeffery. He had been in captivity for 24 hours & was already displaying bratty teenager behavior lmao. He's a deep sleeper & refuses to engage until it becomes apparent that I'm not gonna let him sleep. He puts his head back under his wing on the scale.
