.@JoyTaylorTalks on the Lamar Jackson’s MVP candidacy: “If we just compare statistics year to year, then it’s just a statistical award & we don’t need to get into [anything else], but that’s not what this is. It’s MVP … We’re all experiencing greatness.”
@sgellison @JoyTaylorTalks My gut tells me Joy would likely join the program if you ask her 15 mins of her time 🏈😎
@sgellison @JoyTaylorTalks I love listening to her 🫶
In the Navy when writing your evals, or someone else’s eval, it was never about your raw statistics. The story of that year is how your individual statistics helped your division/department/command. What player’s statistics has affected their teams success more than Lamar Jackson?
They are doing to Lamar now what they used to do to Kobe! Down play everything he does, minimize his performances down to advance stats, and put asterisks next to his awards, milestones, and championships. When Lamar is dead and gone they will revisit his career and place all of their favorite players in front of him, whether they deserve it or not. This is the sign of true greatness. The media cannot manufacture true greatness, true greatness shines inspite of the media,not because of it! Lamar Jackson keep shining, keep that mamba mentality, and always remember Rumble Young Man Rumble.
@sgellison @JoyTaylorTalks IMO, MVP is a distraction. This upcoming Steelers game should be our only focus. It’s a potentially dangerous game. The Steelers will come out as headhunters. What about the Ravens? The Steelers are capable of, and more than willing to inflict a TON of damage.
@sgellison @JoyTaylorTalks From a stealers and dolphins fan....no better cosign than that
@sgellison @JoyTaylorTalks Maybe it’s time the league puts less emphasis on basic statistics like passing touchdowns, and more on contextual criteria? It will be odd to look back on this season and see some of those numbers but could be a good precedent,
@sgellison @JoyTaylorTalks Very well said @JoyTaylorTalks.
