Where's the outrage at Carers Allowance going up by 35p to £67.60 p/w That's £1.93 an hour based on a 35 hour week.
@secret_local I view this as indicative of Tory policy , they know as with NHS you are worth more but they also know that your a captive to your soul , every time any deal is done it’s insulting yet they fritter our money away like water on failed projects , track and trace , HS2
@secret_local Carers allowance should be 35 hours at minimum wage as a minimum. Anything less is a piss take
@secret_local I've posted about it many times, and there's 7 Million carers , not a mention in Rishi Sunak CV19 financial support package, it gets a bit exposure but not enough
@secret_local Folks are all out of outrage. Too exhausted. The plan worked.
@secret_local @Katynurse27 I was a sole, lone carer for my single parent mum from age 8. I juggled caring for her around school, uni and then eventually work. It’s exhausting but we do it out of love. It’s not about ££ it’s about respect, but it is imperative that carers are equally given a living wage
@secret_local I earn less than the UK average salary but I earn far too much to get carers allowance. Although I am a carer for my wife who is disabled and has kidney disease. Knock on effect - I can't get a covid vaccine as a carer because, according to the government, I'm not one. 🤔
@secret_local There had been talk of possibly getting the £20 uplift - the actual though was so much of a relief and would have made such a mental and financial difference. There was nothing. #nothing for carers So now quite hit by it 1/2
@secret_local It's dispicable, unpaid carers save the government billions each year.I looked after my parents and it was not about the money,it's just that it is not enough. You need the money to pay for basics and for respite and your own health suffers.
@secret_local There is so much crisis created by this most egregious government. Where do we start? So much poverty politically designed.
