I have noticed a trend in urban architecture of large buildings that look like they should not be able to stand without violating several laws of physics. I understand it makes an impression but can we just not? Like what message are we trying to send with the ‘it’ll all come crashing down soon’ style of construction?
@seanonolennon As an engineer, it's always a balance between us and Architechs. If you left building to us, we'd make pyramids. If it was up to Architechs, the pyramids would be upside-down.
@seanonolennon more art deco please, thank you
@seanonolennon I would never buy a place in that building. Just gives me shivers to look at.
@seanonolennon I can’t believe that an intelligent and cultured guy like you hasn’t heard of the Jenga School of Architecture.
@seanonolennon Imagine how steep an escalator would be in that building 🧐
@seanonolennon The world definitely needs more cool buildings...
@seanonolennon Completely agree. Who can be comfortable inside such a structure?
@seanonolennon The one on Lexington in the east 50s that an engineering student found was prone to collapse for her thesis. They dismissed her in public. But behind closed doors they checked their work and then fixed the problem. It was a building on stilts over another building.
